300 Series Landcruiser LC300 Engine & Transmission Protection

IWhen towing heavy caravans, the factory heat exchangers and transmission coolers greatly benefit from HPD's auxilliary cooling products. In addition, the HPD catch provides added protection to help prevent black sludgy-like deposit building up in the intake system of the F33A-FTV motor.

Why has HPD developed a Heat Exchanger?
It has become widely known that the 300 Series Landcruiser loses considerable power when the going gets tough, especially during towing in hot weather.
The two small side-mounted factory heat exchangers behind the front bumper receive poor airflow. In hot conditions, they struggle to reduce coolant temperatures that circulate through the water-to-air intercooler. This results in higher intake temperatures, higher overall engine temperatures and power loss, due to the ECU performing what it's programmed to do to protect the engine.

HPD's Heat Exchanger acts as an auxiliary to the two factory heat exchangers and is positioned behind the grille to receive maximum airflow to effectively reduce coolant temperatures that pass through the water-to-air intercooler.
How well does it work?
Development vehicle owner Brad reported that after the HPD Heat Exchanger, Transcooler and Catch Can was fitted, when towing his 3.2 tonne caravan up Accommodation Hill, Sturt Highway South Australia, he experienced no power loss, instead the vehicle was still accelerating. On a previous trip, in similar weather conditions, he experienced considerable power loss.
This unit, features our infamous Bar & Plate core optimised for fluid cooling as well as CNC machined billet alloy end tanks. This Heat Exchanger unit has been proven to reduce intercooler coolant temperatures by 20°C. We observed negligible loss of power in hot conditions during vehicle testing, on both the dyno and on-road testing.

During road testing, we saw an average of 24.47°C drop in trans fluid temperatures.

This Australian made premium quality catch can kit features a stunning billet alloy intake adaptor elbow (replacing the factory plastic unit) in addition to HPD's famous billet alloy catch can.

HPD Catch Cans don’t develop excessive crank case pressure as our 8-layer stainless steel mesh filtration system does not clog up like paper or fabric cartridges of other systems.
